Dear Götz,
It was with shock and surprise that we received the news of your stroke and it was with great sadness that we received the news of your death a few days later.
We first met just a few years ago when you came to the island, my father mowed the lawn of your house and made some works around the garden, I was the translator between you and Bernd and my father and sometimes helped my father with the works at the house. This made us became in touch very often and I think I can say we became friends.
This is being a different, difficult and challenging year for me, as my father died earlier this year, and later you went to the same place.
I remember the lunch you and Bernd prepared for my family at your place.
It was always a pleasure to have a conversation with you because of the way you were. Very calm, intelligent and insightful. You were one of the nicest, polite persons I have ever met. I wish there were more persons like you in the world.
I thank you for all the gifts you brought us from your travels, all the gifts for my daughters.
We didn't know each other for many years but you will always be remembered by me and my family. You will always have a place in our hearts.
Bernd, our deepest condolences and wish you much strength for the times ahead.
